How we met: Jacob and I met in middle school. We were best friends all throughout high school. After we graduated, we decided that we would start dating. Little did I know, I would get to spend the rest of my life with him.
how they asked: We went on a little weekend vacation to the Tennessee Mountains with some friends.
We decided that while we were there we would take “couple” pictures for the new year on the mountain.
January 2, 2015
The “boys” said that they needed to go to the store to grab something. My friend Darian (the photographer) got a call from her husband saying that they were “stuck” on the mountain. My first thoughts, Why did they go on the mountain? They are supposed to wait for us so we could take pictures. So the ladies come to the rescue in another car. We saw the truck, it was not stuck. Weird… So we start to walk up the mountain to see what they were doing.
Engagement was NOT going through my mind at all..
When we got half way to the top we saw signs going all the way up the rest of the mountain.
They read….
Today when you woke up…
The thing you didn’t realize…
Was this would be…
A day like no other…
Every day I am thankful…
and blessed…
For having you in my life…
You inspire me to do some much more…
without you…
I wouldn’t be half the person I am today…
You complete me…
You are beautiful inside and out…
I love you so much…
And I want to spend…
The rest of my life with you…
(an arrow pointing to him)
I walked up to him and could see tears falling from his face.
It was the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. He said something, but honestly.. I don’t remember anything he said. Then he got down on one knee and said “will you marry me?” I said, “YESSSSSS!” (in my crying voice)
It was such a special time for us and something I never want to forget.
