How We Met
We went to the same High School in a small town where everyone knew each other, but we never talked because I was a couple of grades older than Isaiah. He had a class with my brother during his senior year and always told him he would date me, which my brother always rolled his eyes at. After he graduated, he messaged me on Instagram after we ran into each other at our local coffee shop. We had so much in common & instantly connected, I was smitten with how charming & kind he was! We started dating shortly after & have been inseparable since! Fast forward 7 years, 1 year of long-distance, 3 different cities & experiencing so many of life’s ups&downs together, there is no one else I would rather be mine forever.
How They Asked
We planned a trip to Hawaii at the beginning of the year to celebrate our seven year anniversary & right away I had a feeling that he would propose on the trip. He asked my dad for my hand in marriage about a year earlier & I only knew because my dad told me right away lol.
He also told his mom he was going to be proposing a few months before she passed away, so it was so special that she also knew it was going to happen & was so excited for us. Isaiah asked my dad to make a ring box that he could propose with that incorporated our family & it was the most romantic and special part of the proposal!
During our vacation, we had so many cool things planned but I knew the sunrise hike on our anniversary was going to be when it happened. We woke up at 4:00 am to get ready (he told me to put makeup & a dress on ?) we got to Makapu’u Lookout, which has one of the most beautiful views on the island. We sat & watched the sunrise, then he got down on one knee. Eeekk!! He was so nervous as he told me how much he loved me, that he couldn’t wait to make it official & spend the rest of his life with me!
Then he pulled out the beautiful ring box my dad’s hand made and inside was the most BEAUTIFUL ring I have ever seen! (yes I cried!!) Years of sending him ring photos on Instagram worked ?. He got the exact diamond & band I had shown him a few months earlier when we went to look around Shane Co. in Scottsdale, AZ. He also had the best photographer, Jayleigh Flood, helping him plan everything & photographing the whole thing!
The day couldn’t have been more perfect, we are so over the moon with excitement on everything to come ♥️
