How We Met
Carter and I met at Top Golf in Brandon, FL. He was out with some friends and so was I, but he kept looking over at me and smiling. When our friends all decided to leave I went over to him and asked him if he would like to stay and hang out with me. He said yes and we ended up staying an extra 5 hours at Top Golf.
How They Asked
The proposal happened on March 25, 2020 in the front yard of my friends house. This wasn’t the plan that he had in mind, but he wanted to propose on our one year anniversary. His original plan was to take us back to Top Golf, then out to our favorite restaurant Haven and then finally to the Harry Waugh Dessert Room at Berns Steak House where I work. He wanted to embarrass me in front of my friends and bring them all to our booth and propose. I knew he was going to propose between January and March because he sleep talks and when I would come home at night he would sometimes roll over and ask me to marry him. He would say,” You’re going to marry me, right?”. I would always chuckle and say,” Of course, that’s the plan.” So jump back to March. We were leaving a party at my friend Ashley’s house and we were getting in the car, but he stopped and said that there was something on the passenger side of the car and I needed to come look at it. When I went to that side of the car he kneeled down and said,” You’re going to marry me, right?” And of course the only reply I said was,” Of course, that’s the plan.”
