How We Met
Chris and I meet at work. It’s not your typical “meet at the workplace” story due to the nature of our jobs. Chris is a fireman and I worked as an EMT on the ambulance. We ran a call together one day. He carried the patient’s belongings constant of a Dora the Explorer backpack and pink fluffy shoes. I began to joke around with his crew about Chris carrying the backpack and said something like “those shoes are just your style.” My name was on my uniform. He then messaged me over Instagram telling me his crew what is giving him a hard time about the Dora the Explorer backpack. Then, eventually over the next few months, we ran a few more calls together and the rest is history! We still continue to light heartily make fun of each other because you can never be too hard on yourself, especially with careers like ours!
How They Asked
Chris and I were on a 9-day road trip that ended in Zion national park.
It was snowy and chilly adding to the excitement. On the very last day of our adventures, he led me on a hike where he had hired a professional photographer to follow us. She was very secretive so I had no idea it was coming. When we got to the outlook, he asked, who I would later find out would be the photographer, to take our picture. She quickly snapped a shot, then Chris looked at me and began talking. At this time, I knew it was coming. He got down on one knee in front of beautiful snow covered red rock backdrop as asked me to marry him. It was so perfect. I could have not have thought of a better proposal myself!
