How We Met

Tommy and I met 7 years ago when he was visiting the states from Australia. He saw me on the beach and had no idea who I was but really wanted to find me and get to know me. Later on, it turned out that the people he was actually meeting up with were me and my youth group. I knew from the two weeks we spent together at 17 he would be someone I could never forget. Our summer consisted of gazing at the stars, people watching, and making stories about them for hours.

Our awkward first kiss that my mom just happened to pass by and see. Lots and lots of letters that at the time made me feel weird and giddy. It’s crazy how God works in ways we can’t even imagine and I know this was all played out to his advantage. I still can’t believe I’m marrying someone who’s across the world from me but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Although, time was not on our side and we did not stay together from the moment we met. I truly believe that if you’re meant to be you’ll truly always find your way back to one another. The instant fulfillment he gives me is something nobody will ever be able to accomplish. I felt that from day one and I knew he felt it too.

How They Asked

Fast Forward 7 years to August 26, 2020, and we planned on doing a road trip! Our first stop was in North Carolina. I had set up for us to do a couples shoot since we’ve never done it before and it’s always been a dream of mine to take pictures on a beautiful mountain top. So we headed out 3 hours to Max Patch which has one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. As the sun began to set we walked over to a gorgeous overlook where he took the knee and gave me the most amazing gift I could have ever received!! He proposed and made me the happiest girl in the world. I can’t wait to marry the love of my life and begin our adventure together.
