How We Met
Raymond and I met in High School, my Sophomore, his Junior year. We instantly became best friend, talking on the phone day and night, walking home together, walking to classes together, we were virtually inseparable. It wasn’t until our college years that I finally stopped playing hard to get and gave “love” a chance.
how they asked
Raymond and I went to one of our favorite restaurants one Sunday evening. I thought it was going to be a pretty regular night out so I dressed pretty casual. Dinner was great as usual and we just had a great time, laughing, eating, and having a cocktail or two. On our way home, Raymond took an unusual exit, but I paid it no attention because traffic was a bit on the heavy side. We ended up next to my mom’s house, a very familiar area, where Raymond used to walk me home from high school, rain or shine, every day. His route home was easily an extra 15-20 minutes in the opposite direction, but Raymond never complained. Raymond and I walked hand in hand down the trail, it was the perfect Spring evening, with just the right amount of wind blowing. We sat down on a bench in the distance and just listened to how peaceful it was. Raymond felt as though it was the perfect time for a photo opt, so he pulled out his camera and began taking pictures. I noticed that he wasn’t pressing the button on his phone, but was fumbling with something in his pocket. Out of nowhere, Raymond dropped down to one knee, looked me in the yes, and asked me to be his wife. I could help but cry a little bit, because it was the most sincere and precious moment I have ever experienced in my life.
