How We Met
The first time I saw Victoria was in an Organic Chemistry class at college. I remember thinking she was really cute and catching her name off the sign-in sheet as it went by. But we didn’t actually meet till the next year in a summer Medical Terminology class. We met at a Starbucks the day before class started and later ate baby octopi at a Thai restaurant as our first date a few weeks later.
how they asked
For the proposal, our families convinced her they got free tickets to Broadway Lion King and knew she couldn’t refuse. She’s always loved Broadway and NYC, so we knew she’d really enjoy the trip. The hardest part was walking from there to the MET without getting lost in the New York jungle. After several wrong turns, we finally made it by cutting through Central Park where the cherry trees were in bloom. After getting to the MET, we checked out some of the artifacts and then posed in front of the main crypt in the Egyptian room with the photographer waiting. I knelt down and slipped the ring from my pocket– the look on her face was priceless.
Afterwards, I surprised her with a hotel and another day in New York. The next day we explored Grand Central station and the Matcha Tea bar. Our trip to New York was such an adventure and one that we’ll always remember.
As far back as I can remember, I’d always wanted to propose in a big city. Once I picked NYC it was tricky trying to find the right place. I wanted to find somewhere pretty and unique and also somewhere to avoid bad weather. Finally I decided on the Egyptian room of the MET museum– it had a great collection of old artifacts with lots of good lighting and backdrops. It was the perfect spot.
I mostly wanted them to show how happy we both were being engaged. It was a super fun experience with lots of suspense leading up to it. This photographer did a great job finding just the right poses and backgrounds, and we got a great variety of pictures.
I wanted to find a good photographer with an eye for beauty and creativity. True to the reviews, this photographer took great pictures and has an engaging, friendly personality.
The best part of being engaged is knowing I’m going to spend the rest of my life with Tori. Time with her is so special and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for us.
