How We Met
Ryan and I met on a double date in the summer of 2013 when we were both seeing other people. A year later, both of us were single and we met again at the Citrus Expo in Fort Myers, Florida. He works in the citrus industry and I was interning for a company who helped organize the expo. At the time, I was going into my senior year at the University of Florida and he had graduated from UF for two years prior. Seven months later I posted on Facebook that I had taken an internship (that would later lead to a full time position) so he messaged me and congratulated me. After that, we continued to message, text and talk on the phone for two months until our first date. He and I have been inseparable since. He is the best friend I never knew I was missing! He makes me laugh and is my constant encouragement. Since we started dating, we have been challenged by distance. At first it was three hours apart and then it changed to six. Even though it has been difficult at times, we are blessed to get to spend as much time together as we do.
how they asked
We had planned a trip to Texas in October (my favorite month) to visit some of his family. I had never been to Texas before so we were also going to see some sites while we were there. Ryan and I both love to watch the HGTV show, Fixer Upper (we admire the stars, Chip & Joanna Gaines, so much) so we knew we wanted to visit their Magnolia Market Silos store in Waco. Ryan, his aunt and myself shopped around the store, took some pictures and ate at the food trucks. We walked over to the garden which was decorated for fall (my favorite season). Right when you enter the garden, they have hay bales and pumpkins set up for photo areas. I sat down first for our picture and before I knew it, he was pulling out a ring!
