How We Met
Ryan and I have been dating for 5 years and I can genuinely say that we have a fairy tale relationship! We met many years before we started dating and have had a special place in our hearts for each other ever since. Ryan’s brother Daniel was dating my cousin Cristina for 13 years and they have recently celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary. At their wedding (5 years ago), Ryan and I re-connected and it’s been pure magic ever since. I truly can’t imagine being with any other person. Ryan is my my best friend! We have so much fun, just the two of us. We love to travel and especially love to watch movies. We watch almost every movie that comes out. (VIP, IPic and AMC theatres are our favourite!)
As a sidetone: Year after year and day after day our family and friends would continue to say “If Ryan doesn’t ask you to marry him, you’re going to propose to him!”.
how they asked
Ryan has a heart of gold and never makes any decision without putting his whole heart in to it. Leading up to July 31st, Ryan let me know that on that Sunday we were going to go out with our friends in the late afternoon. I got ready on the morning of July 31st and we spent the day galivanting around waiting to meet our friends. Earlier that morning, Ryan let me know that before we were going to meet with our friends, he had to make a pit stop and meet with a client who owned the AMC plaza. FYI: This specific AMC is where we had our first date (It has recently closed down and is a vacant building with all AMC signage still up).
Ryan let me know that this was a new client of his and that he was only able to meet him that day. Naturally, I went along with the plans and was looking forward to our afternoon with friends. Later on that day when we arrived at AMC, Ryan let me know he thought it would be a good idea for me to go and meet the owner as he could potentially be a long term client and that he thought it would be nice if he got to know me. I was excited to meet someone new!
Once we arrive and as we began walking towards the front entrance, Ryan let me know that we actually weren’t meeting with the client after all. Ryan continued the “Script” and told me that he still did know the owner of the property and that he had arranged for us to watch a movie in the theatres before they tear the building down. We continued to walk and Ryan pointed out the movie that we were going to watch.
#mostshockedmomentofmylife. I froze. I had no idea what to do or how to react. I was SPEECHLESS! I kept staring at the poster in the box saying “what is that?” “is this real?” I barely allowed poor Ryan to say any of his little speech he prepared. I was totally blindsided in the best way ever! As I began to look around, I noticed that the photographer who I had always dreamed to shoot my wedding, was perfectly positioned behind me and capturing this whole moment.
I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS WAS HAPPENING!
I turned around again, and there Ryan was DOWN. ON. ONE. KNEE!! Pure magic.
I couldn’t wait to go home and show my parents. Little did I know, that when we arrived at my house, all of our family and closest friends were at my house waiting for us to arrive. THEY ALL KNEW ABOUT THIS!
I couldn’t believe Ryan planned out this whole day. It still amazes me. He even created our own Snap chat filter to be available for the guests at my house who were celebrating!
I have woken up every single day so excited to be marrying my best friend. I am especially grateful for how thought out and personal our proposal was. I will forever remember this day and have the most incredible pictures and videos to share. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
