How We Met
When Shane and I first started seeing each other we tried to keep our relationship under wraps due to my traditional Greek family. We couldn’t keep it hidden for long! After five years, two degrees, an apartment, and one kitten, Shane suggested we take an impromptu trip to the Caribbean. We had a perfect time playing on the beach, visiting historic sites and museums, and checking out local hotspots. I didn’t think paradise could get much better. Cue the proposal!
How They Asked
Shane hailed a cab in Nassau and asked the driver to take us to Ardastra Gardens and Zoo. We walked around the (breathtaking!) nature center snapping photos and checking out the incredible wildlife. There were flamingos, macaw parrots, and albino peacocks roaming freely throughout the reserve. It was magical! We also stopped by the sweetest wishing well to make some wishes. I bet you’ll never guess what I wished for! 💍
We stopped to sit by a sparkling miniature waterfall when Shane decided to set up his tripod and take a few photos of the two of us. I sat smiling at the camera, successfully distracted, while he pulled out the black velvet ring box and got down on one knee. We both started crying right away and I answered his question before he had even asked. No decision has ever been easier.
We were crying and giggling for what seemed like forever. The proposal was beautiful and private and romantic. It was everything I had wished for at the well. It’s almost as if it was plucked right out of a fairytale. A perfect moment, just for us.
