How We Met
In true millennial form, Justin and I met on Tinder in college. After five dates, I moved across the country for a two-month internship but we stayed in touch the entire summer. Coincidentally, the day I flew back home was also my birthday. When I stepped off the plane, I saw my family, friends, and Justin! I was in shock! He had messaged my best friend and asked to come with them to the airport even though he had to meet my parents and friends without me even being there, brave!
How They Asked
After dating for four years, I graduated with my Master’s degree and we planned a trip to Europe in order to celebrate. Towards the end of the trip, we had planned to have dinner in the Eiffel Tower. On the way to the tower, Justin had the ring in his pocket and was ready to propose. However, he forgot about the metal detectors during the security screening you have to go through at the tower. While I wasn’t looking, he quickly pulled the ring out of the box and placed it in his wallet before putting it through the conveyer belt to be scanned. He kept the leather box in his pocket and I never noticed anything! After dinner, Justin suggested we walk to a bridge nearby to get a good view of the tower light show.
We headed to the Bir-Hakeim bridge over the Seine River and when we got there, I noticed some photographers setting up to take pictures of what I assumed was the tower. As the lights on the tower starting to glitter, Justin jumped up and started shouting “Its happening! Look!” in the most excited voice ever. I started taking pictures and before I knew it he has dropped to his knee and popped the question! I was so emotional and excited that it took a while for me to notice that the photographers were there for us and that Justin had scheduled for them to capture the most amazing moment of our lives! I’m so thankful for these photos and I can’t wait to marry my best friend on 11/22/2020.
