How We Met
Josh and I met at the end of my senior year and the end of his junior year of college. We both signed up to go on a mission trip to Costa Rica and had never talked during our meetings. We ended up sitting next to each other on the plane and he would not stop talking to me (I thought he was a bit annoying lol). We talked more while on our mission trip and then on the flight back, he asked for my phone number and we have talked every day ever since.
How They Asked
Josh wanted to originally do it on our anniversary but we had a wedding that night. We planned a trip to downtown Chicago to the Art Institute (he is an art teacher) and I had a feeling that it might happen that day. I thought that we were just going to the Art Institute and to walk around the city, but he had more planned! We went out to a nice dinner and when we got our dessert he told me that he had one more surprise for me. We drove to the Willis Tower and went up to the 103rd floor.
We went by the windows that faced the lake and he gave a staff member his camera to take a picture of us. As I was turning around for someone to take the picture, Josh grabbed my hand and went down on one knee. I was a lot more surprised than I thought I would be! I was shaking and had tears in my eyes, but it was the best night ever and I couldn’t have imagined it to happen any other way!
