Rebecca and Alex

How We Met

We met 5 years ago in our first job after graduating. He was so easy to talk to and we became really good friends, whenever I came in to work the first thing I would do was check if he was in too. Everyone in work said what a cute couple we would make and he had apparently told a few people in work that he liked me, so I would be grilled daily by my work colleagues if anything was going on! He was so sweet, he would often bring me breakfast to work and after the Christmas party I was I bit tipsy (to say the least!) so he took a took a taxi with me half an hour out of his way to make sure I got home safe. A few weeks later we went on a date to Chester, it was such a fun night, he took me to all his favorite bars and it was clear we both felt the same way. We decided that night to make it official and we have been together ever since.

how they asked

It was a beautiful sunny Saturday, and my uni friends had come to stay as we were having a 50’s themed party that night (because why not?) we spent the morning eating ice cream and riding boats along the river Dee. Before we were about to head back to start getting ready for the party my friends decided they wanted to take some pictures in the bandstand.

My friend Laura said she would take one of me and Alex, so we posed for a picture and then I realised everyone had their cameras out and were filming us, as I turned to Alex he was smiling and got down on one knee!

It was the perfect moment, it was so special having my friends there to celebrate with. I then called my parents who were also in town with my brother and sister so they came to meet us to celebrate. We all went for drinks and then the 50’s party became an engagement celebration. It couldn’t have been a more perfect weekend.
