How We Met
We’re college sweethearts! We met sophomore year through some friends and through the various organizations we were involved in. Slowly but surely we became friends, best friends! I remember as we continued to grow closer our friends asking me, “What’s going on with you and David?” and I remember vividly saying, “No, we’re just friends.” Little did I know that David was also getting these questions. I’m a firm believer in being friends first and developing a relationship from there. And I’m incredibly lucky that that’s exactly what happened. I can still remember to this day when my friends were finally right and I realized I had feelings for David. We started officially dating in April 2014 at prom like formal for an organization we were involved in. That night he asked me to be his girlfriend! We’ve been lucky to call each other boyfriend and girlfriend, and now fiance for over 5 years.
How They Asked
My fiance and I met in college our sophomore year, a little over five years ago. We started dating in April 2014 and have known since 6 months into our relationship that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Our alma mater, the University of Central Florida has played a major part in who we are as a couple and we wouldn’t be in our relationship today if it wasn’t for our university. So on December 1, 2018, David proposed after the AAC 2018 Championship game, after our Knights accomplished yet another win.
He walked me over to an area of campus, Memory Mall, that has significance in our relationship because it basically marks the sport where our relationship began. As we walked over he asked me, “What do you want for Christmas?” I responded with, “I don’t know.” To which he said while getting down on one knee, “Well, I know what I want. Will you make me the happiest man and marry me?” The easiest question I’ve ever been asked. With tears in my eyes, I said, “Yes!”
