How We Met
Jorge and I met when I was a sophomore in high school and he was one year older than me. I remember seeing him in the halls with his basketball buddies and I thought he was so cute, but I was always too shy to talk to him. I happened to be best friends with one of Jorge’s cousins and that’s how we started spending time together. I thought he was the funniest, sweetest guy I had ever met. We went on a couple dates and the rest is history. Eight and a half years later and we are still going strong.
How They Asked
Jorge and I planned a trip to Colorado for our 8 year anniversary so I thought (and was hoping) maybe it was a possibility that he would propose. I was fishing for clues and hints leading up to the trip. I would say things and wait to see Jorge’s reaction, but he would not budge. When my two best friend made a surprise visit to Colorado then I thought for sure he was going to ask. But as the trip went on and he hadn’t popped the question I thought it wasn’t going to happen. On the last day we were there we decided to go snow mobiling up to the continental divide. The view was so beautiful and there was snow and mountains everywhere. It looked like something out of a postcard. My best friend took my camera to take a picture of Jorge and I and that’s when he got down on one knee. It was perfect.
