Presley and Will
We have been dating for almost 5 years. I have been anxiously waiting for this day for so long, but knew that it would most likely not be happening until I graduate from nursing school in May 2018. Back in October, Will surprised me with a birthday ski trip to Loveland. All of my friends (and I) quickly jumped to the conclusion that this could be it! We have always considered Colorado to be “our place”. Well, the months leading up to the trip, Will had convinced me that it was not the right time and to really seriously not get my hopes up, because it was not going to happen before I graduate. As we departed for our trip, I was super excited, yet still hopeful that it could happen. But on the plane he made sure he made a point to tell me not to be upset when I come back from Colorado without an engagement ring. I soon forgot about it when we got to Denver to hangout out with my cousin and his fiancé. On the day it happened, he had kept the ring with my cousins Fiance the whole day while we snowboarded. That morning I was frustrated because I had seemed to forget everything I learned the day before in snowboard school. As I made it to the bottom of the mountain I unstrapped my board and was about done for the day. That’s when he said we were going to the top of the mountain to eat lunch and grab a drink to relax. I was down for that. On the way up to the top we had to take 2 lifts to get there. On the first lift Will had a rough landing when two people wouldn’t get out of the way. (He actually ended up breaking his ankle in two places and we didn’t find out until a couple of days later). But if you know me, I was laughing when he busted it, only to come to find out he was actually hurt. We slowly but surely made it to the top of the mountain. This is where it all happened. After looking out at the beautiful view, we decided to take pictures. When it was Will and I’s turn to take the pictures it felt like we were standing there forever, and I felt bad because I knew he was in pain because of his ankle. Just before I was about to tell him “Ok that’s enough pictures”, he reached into his pocket and got down to one knee and asked me to marry him. I cry like a baby and of course say yes! But that’s not all! Soon after he said he had another surprise and looked towards my cousins Fiance who was taking our pictures. I look closer and realize that my best friend and her husband were standing there! They had flew in from TX to be there for the proposal and they had my mom on FaceTime on their phone. My fiancé did the best job ever keeping this a secret for 6 months and he picked out the most gorgeous ring. It was a trip I will remember for the rest of my life and I can’t wait to marry the man of my dreams!!
