Paige and Luke
How We Met
We both had accounts on OkCupid but neither one of us were having any luck. In fact, I even deleted the app from my phone because it just started to feel like a lost cause. Thankfully I didn’t close my account altogether, because not long after deleting the app, I got an email from OkCupid (buried in my Gmail social folder) saying that someone had messaged me. After reading her message and viewing her profile, I got so excited and immediately re-downloaded the app. We hit it off and things looked promising from the very beginning. I asked her out on a date within the first 24 hours, and she agreed! From the moment we met (in real life), I could tell there was chemistry between us. This was the start of something wonderful.

how they asked
I proposed to Paige on New Year’s Eve while going through a metal detector in a security checkpoint at the Quicken Loans Arena, immediately before seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra bring the house down. Paige walked through first without a problem, but when it was my turn, the buzzer went off. She watched curiously as a searched through my coat to find the mysterious metal object. You can imagine the look of surprise on her face when I pulled out a bright red ring box! I had been in contact with the head of security at the arena weeks in advance, and their team helped me pull this off without getting tased, arrested, etc. They instructed me on what time to arrive, which door to enter, and which line to walk through. I really appreciate everything they did (especially getting the whole thing on video!). Needless to say, Paige was in total shock, and it was certainly an exciting way to ‘ring’ in the new year!
