How We Met: Ladan and I met when he moved to my elementary school in 5th grade. We lived in the same neighborhood, but we started dating when we both joined band our freshman year of high school. Ladan asked me to be his girlfriend by leaving a pot of pansies (my favorite flower) on the piano before class and hiding a note in my flute case. I said yes, and the rest is history!
how they asked: At the end of June 2014, Ladan surprised me with a trip to Disneyland for the 4th of July weekend. He let me know that we’d be leaving after my last summer semester final, and all I’d need to do was pack my things. On the morning of July 3rd, we left for Anaheim, California! We spent the first day exploring Downtown Disney, but on July 4th, Ladan took me to Disneyland. That night, he took me to a great dinner at Cafe Orleans and then told me that we were going to the 4th of July fireworks show. Ladan found us a spot right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle, and proposed right under the 4th of July fireworks! He said that the first time he told me he loved me (our sophomore year of high school) was under a 4th of July fireworks show, so he couldn’t think of a better way to ask me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my high school sweetheart.
As if Ladan’s proposal wasn’t already a dream come true, he took the extra time to have my ring custom made, so it was everything I could have ever wanted.
