How We Met
I was in high school and touring colleges for my upcoming and impending freshman year. I went to an accepted students day at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. I had applied and got accepted under an Education major but decided to switch to Public Relations. Due to that spur of the moment switch, I had gotten assigned to Adam’s tour group (he was a tour guide and two years ahead of me). From that moment, we caught each other’s eye but never spoke directly. Once I attended, Adam saw me on campus and started to message me on Facebook to see how I was liking my first year at Champlain. We never stopped talking :)
How They Asked
It started 5 years ago when Adam was my tour guide at the college we ended up both attending. He kept staring at me and smiling which I thought was odd but adorable. Fast forward five years later, being long distance and moving from MA to VT to NY to IL and back to NY. We went to grab drinks with his sister at the Whiteface Lodge Hotel. She was a professional photographer and wanted to take some romantic pictures outside and asked us to stand in for test lighting. There was a view of the snow-capped panoramic Adirondack mountains, with a fire pit and Sam Smith playing in the distance.
Adam wasn’t really posing with me and kept being stiff, so I said: “What are you going to do, propose?”. I was facing the other way because I was just making an off handed comment when I heard him say “Yes……”. He told me how much he loved me, got down on one knee and gave me the most perfect ring, I’m so happy to be his future wife.
