How We Met
I met Dan on an online dating website. We had actually both gone to the same college and even found out later, we shared a few mutual friends, but had never met! After talking some more, we had also learned that we grew up only two small towns away from one another (which was just a 7 minute drive away). One date was all I needed to know I wanted to continue spending my time with him.
how they asked
We were on a trip to Ireland and we went to visit the Cliffs of Moher on the third day. I started taking pictures of everything right away because the views were so spectacular. When we got to O’Brien’s Tower, we made a right (since Dan had informed me prior that morning, that the best views of the Cliffs would be visible from the right instead of going to the left). When I had asked Dan, “How do you know so much about the Cliffs?” Dan responded, “I did some research.” Not giving anything too much thought, I decided I would just go along with what he said. We walked for about an hour, taking a lot of selfies and many other great pictures, until we came to a great spot with the Cliffs in background.
As Dan started stretching and scratching his head, I noticed he went to reach in his pocket. I started to become slightly suspicious of something going on. When I asked him what he was doing, he quickly responded, “Nothing!” He suggested we take a picture, but he kept looking around and turned me towards him making sure to position me the way he wanted. When I asked who was going to take our picture, Dan pointed to a man in a bright blue jacket (who was a professional photographer he hired) and said, “He is.” Dan pulled the ring box out of his pocket and got down on one knee asking me to make him the happiest man in the world by marrying him. I was shocked and thrilled, but remembered to say yes quickly after!
