How We Met
Mitchell and I met in 2010 while working at a small-town ski hill. We both worked in the cafeteria. One day, one friend shared that “this guy” that we worked with sang on stage with Keith Urban at West Edmonton Mall and I quickly “friended” him on Facebook so that I could say I knew the guy.
Throughout the years, Mitchell and I bumped into each other several times (we ended up both working at an airport together too!) but nothing really came of it until 2016. In 2016, Mitchell and re-connected through Tinder. He quickly said something like “no one ever says this anymore, can we just go on a date?”. I remember thinking how strange it was in the beginning because we had known each other for so long and it was like the universe finally made it happen.
How They Asked
Mitchell and I had planned to go to Paris in March and I had a sneaking feeling that he was going to propose in front of the Eiffel Tower BUT Covid-19 happened and we had to cancel the trip. Months later… Mitchell ended up planning the best, most romantic proposal that was so surreal.
Mitchell brought me up in a helicopter and ended up proposing to me in front of a waterfall. It was just us and the pilot. Even more perfect, he used my parent’s engagement ring. After our proposal, we had champagne and then spent the evening at the Fairmont Hotel in Lake Louise. The entire weekend was absolutely perfect.
