How We Met
I met the love of my life when I was 20 years old at my alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I went to go meet my best friend in between classes at our usual spot, Chick-fil-A. When I found her she was sitting with a guy I had never seen before. I went over and we introduced ourselves and shook hands, his name was Christopher. We started hanging out every week in the library, usually watching the Harry Potter series, as Christopher had never seen the movies before and I was in shock! Two months after we met, Christopher asked me out on a date, promising a movie and a milkshake and I had to say yes!
How They Asked
Christopher thought I needed a vacation from my hectic grad school schedule so he took me to Paris for my Spring Break. After a long day of touring the city, Christopher took me to a special spot to “see the sunset” before our dinner reservation. We arrived and he took both of my hands and told me he had a question. I don’t remember anything he said and all I know is he was down on one knee and I saw a sparkling gem! After many tears from both of us and my “YES”, our photographer, Jordan, popped out of the corner! Christopher had hired a photographer who was the sweetest and most patient photographer ever.
There was a lot of commotion in the city, but it was just Christopher and I at that moment. We then had a beautiful dinner inside the Eiffel Tower under the twinkling lights. During dinner, we found out about the incident at Notre Dame only a few hundred feet away! We had visited the church only a few hours beforehand! It is safe to say that this day was definitely memorable.
