How We Met
Charlie and I met 5 years ago when I first walked in to my new job having recently graduated college. At first it was all work and nothing more than colleagues but as the months passed by, the attraction became stronger. We started going out and dating and we were able to keep it lowkey for 1 1/2 years before anyone in the office knew about it. If you ask me, coming from a very small island it was sort of a miracle that we never bumped into anyone from work. We dated for 2 years and it honestly felt as if time was flying until one night after having an amazing date he asked me if i wanted to make the relationship official. So, We officially became boyfriend and girlfriend 3 years ago and I can honestly say its been the best 3 years of my life. We have traveled so much that we share so many beautiful memories together. Working together as colleagues was never a problem and it made our relationship even more strong. I was in awe of how much of a dedicated man he has always been when it comes to his work. It was very cute how we always looked forward to spending our day together even idf it was just working. Last year we had to say goodbye to that part of our relationship, since I moved to a new job, but still our relationship continued to be amazing until today when I can finally say Im marrying my best friend.
how they asked
After Hurricane Maria struck and destroyed our Island, we where hoping our 1 year of planning vacations wouldnt be cancelled and God blessed us, and we were able to go away on our most awaited vacations ever. It was the longest trip we has planned and all by ourselves for the first time in Europe. We visited various countries but on October 4 we arrived to Paris, France. All I can say is I cried as our Uber passed un in front of the Eiffel Tower on our way to the hotel. Something about Paris made me feel connection with the city. As if that wasn’t enough, we get to the hotel and our room has Eiffel Tower view, I can say that I literally felt like a kid at Disney. We had a busy schedule next day doing tours of the Eiffer Tower and dinner at the Amazing Le Jules Verne restaurant with the bests views.
Once that amazing morning and lunch was done, I decided that I wanted to go to the stairs that have an amazing view of the tower to take even more pictures. As Charlie was taking pictures of me a photographer came to us and Asked us if he could take our pictures. At first I was hesitant since I didn’t want no want to interrupt our romantic time together with an amazing view but charlie said it would be nice and then The photographer showed me an album of the pictures he actually takes of other couples and they look really nice, so that’s when I accepted to have him take pictures of us. Little did I know that photograper was actually hired by Charlie to take pictures in order to have memories of the day that would become the best day of my life. Once we were done with the pictures, we decided to continue with the tours around Paris‘s.
At the end of the night I thought it would be special to end the day in the bridge where everyone puts a lock with their names. As soon as we stepped out of the Uber I was in shock at how beautiful the full moon looked over the bridge where people put the locks. We went to a store next to the bridge and bought a lock and integrate our names with the date October 5, 2017. As we stood in awe just gazing at the amazing most beautiful full moon ever and talked about how beautiful this trip had been, I notice Charlie starts drying his eyes as if he was Crying, when I asked if he was okay, he just hugged me and said “you know I love you so much and Im sorry it took so long”. Next thing I know, he waa down on 1 knee asking me to marry him. If I could’ve pictured or imagined a perfect Proposal, this was more than perfect.
