How We Met
I knew Nick from around middle school, but we had never spoken to each other. Our love story began when my dad picked Nick to be on his baseball team at Westside Ball Park. I saw Nick’s name on the roster and thought to myself, “Hey I know that kid from school”, but never thought anything more about it. Going to that first practice and meeting Nick for the first time made me realize I just had to get to know him better. Nick was a very quiet, shy person, but his goofy, crooked smile just caught my eye. Each practice we began to talk more and more, but it usually consisted of him picking on me more than anything, lol. One night after a game Nick and I hung out for a couple of hours. After that night I just knew that I really liked him, but I never thought I would have a chance. A few days later I received a message from Nick on MySpace (so old, I know right lol), saying that night was the most fun he has had in a long while.
He then asked for my number and asked if he could call me, which of course, I said yes!! We slowly began to talk here and there but it never became anything serious. When state and regionals for all-stars came around we became so busy with traveling and baseball that the talking just kind of came to a standstill. Meanwhile, I continued to follow his stats and listen to and watch every game I could. I was crazy proud of him for making it to the game where they got to play on ESPN!! We didn’t begin talking again until a few weeks after school began. Even then, we just remained friends for a good while before he finally asked me to be his girlfriend.
How They Asked
We have had a few bumps and bruises along the way throughout our tens years of dating, but we made it to the special day where he made my dream come true and proposed to me in front of the Cinderella castle at Disney World.
