How We Met: Vlad and I have been together for just over 7 years and he still gives me butterflies. We met when we were in high school; we both took auto class in grade 10 and became friends really quickly. We spent all of our spare time together, we would always go to Tim Horton’s and get my favorite peanut butter and go find somewhere to sit and talk for hours. Vlad was also my prom date but we were just friend’s back then. It wasn’t until we had graduated high school that we began to date.
The summer of ’07 we began dating and have been inseparable even since. He is defiantly the Yin to my Yang, which helps keep a balance in our relationship. Our perfect night is good pizza and a movie but we also like to get outdoors and go camping together snowboarding. I always knew Vlad was the one but when he proposed I was so overjoyed, I fell in love with him all over again.
how they asked: On Christmas morning we had made our usual plans to have Christmas first with his family and then go to mine later in the morning. We had gotten each other gifts to open with both families so I was defiantly surprised when he pulled out an extra gift in a small box. That was the fastest I have ever opened a gift in my life. Once it was open he took it the ring box, got down on one knee and asked me to to marry him. I jumped into his arms and screamed yes! The rest is a blur of screaming, laughing, kissing and prancing around the house. I was so happy and overwhelmed with excitement, my whole family was there (even on Skype in England) to share the special moment in our lives. Vlad’s family joined us immediately after to celebrate our engagement, it was truly the most extraordinary day of my life and it being Christmas was extra special. I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with Vlad and plan our special day together.
