How We Met
Sonny and I met in senior year in high school. Our mutual friend sent me his number and asked to call to plan to go out to roller skating that night. I called the number and this happy go lucky voice answered and said “hey! You coming out tonight or what??” From there we became friends and eventually best friends. There was a point of time where our feelings became mutual and he asked me to be his girlfriend. He placed a balloon in my DECA class that said Pop Me and inside was a card asking me to be his girlfriend. We’ve been together for 9 years.
How They Asked
Our group of our friends and we decided to dress up and visit The Broadmoor Hotel to take pictures. That place was a winter wonderland. Our friends were taking pictures of Sonny and me in front of this cute Christmas Tree together. When I turned around to walk away from a little remote toy car with a ring balloon bumped into me. (Sonny asked me the same way to prom) That’s when I realized what was going on and turned to him.
I cried through his heartfelt speech and when he got on one knee I balled even more. I can’t describe how perfect this feeling was of “wow this is what forever feels like”.
