Nathan and Lauren
How We Met
Nathan reached out to me on Instagram while I was living away from my hometown getting my masters from the University of Kentucky. We talked every day for a few months before I came back home on spring break when we had our first date. We have been together ever since. We did the long-distance relationship for a little over a year, before I moved back home to West Virginia. We have been living together for the last year.
How They Asked
Nathan and I took a vacation to the beaches of 30A in Florida. Before we left, Nathan told me that he had planned a sunset cruise. He said that it was a public boat and there would be 6 other people on it. He even had the captain in on it! When we got there, the captain said everyone had canceled and that it would just be us on the boat for the evening. We sailed into the Destin harbor and once the boat turned into the sunset, Nathan asked the captain if he would take our picture. As we were posing for the picture, Nathan got down and asked me to marry him. It was the best day of my life. I’m so excited for us to spend the rest of our lives together!
