How We Met
Nathan & I first met in March of 2010, through our close friends on a night out in Dallas. There was an IMMEDIATE connection between us both. However, we were dating other people at the time, so we didn’t think twice about getting to know each other.
Fast forward two years later – Nate hadn’t stopped thinking about me since we first met. He reached out to me & (thankfully) I wasn’t seeing anyone at the time, so I decided to take a chance on his offer to take me out. It was the BEST decision I’ve ever made! After that night, we were inseparable. I knew after only a few dates, I was falling for him & he was falling for me.
4 months later, God decided he had other plans for us & we found out I was pregnant! Our little Bradley came into this world April 1, 2013, (our little April fool!) we couldn’t imagine life without him!
Over 6 & a half years together, we have cried, argued, laughed, struggled & learned so much about life – but most of all, we have grown even MORE in love with every passing day together!
Nate & I have ALWAYS loved to travel. It’s been spur of the moment road trips to Austin, Louisiana, or planned trips to Vegas, Miami, Chicago & a Western Caribbean cruise – we LOVE to get away together as a couple! At the beginning of this year (2018) I KNEW I wanted to do something big for Nates 30th birthday. I remembered how much fun we had in Cozumel & decided we just had to go back. I went ALL out and booked us a trip to Playa Mujeres, Mexico at the Excellence resort. I got us a 2 story rooftop terrace suite room with EVERY little extra thing I could think of… It was going to be the BEST birthday yet! Little did I know, Nate was planning a surprise for ME on our trip!
A few months before we left for Mexico, Nate told me to see if our hotel had dinner on the beach. After finding out they do, he told me to reserve it for Saturday, September 1st – which was going to be our first full day there. After telling him I booked the 9:30 time, he insisted it HAD to be 7 – a sunset dinner. I didn’t think much of it but changed it, and our sunset dinner on the beach was booked!
how they asked
September 1st, we spent the morning at the spa having the most amazing couples massage, followed by a perfect afternoon at the beach. After a romantic & relaxing da, we got ready, and our it was time for our sunset dinner!
We walked down to the beach, there was a photographer there to take pictures (which is done during any dinner on the beach). The photographer took a quick picture of each of the other 3 couples, then came to us last, he kept taking more & more of us.
Nate was holding me & kissing me, he then looked at me, held me tight, & says to me “You know how much I love you right? You’re the BEST thing to ever happen to me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you” before I knew it, he was getting down on one knee and asked me to marry him! The tears started immediately and all I could do was hold him. I was in a bit of shock – it was hard to wrap my mind around what was happening – because this was a moment I had been waiting for ALL my life and it was happening! After a good minute of not being able to talk, I was finally able to say YES!!
Everyone was cheering and clapping for us! Turns out, Nate had been in contact with the resort and made sure there was a photographer he could hire to get every moment captured for us! It was truly the most romantic & perfect day of our lives! He exceeded every expectation of what I hoped a proposal would be. Without a doubt, I’m the luckiest girl in the world to get to spend the rest of my life with him – my best friend!
Cheers to the future MR. & MRS. EDEN!
