how they asked
When the love of my life got down on one knee and proposed on December 23, 2017, it was one of the best days of my life. I’m still so overjoyed and I can’t believe I actually get to marry my best friend in the whole world. The night Nathan planned to propose, my family and his were going on our annual Santa’s Village trip. I didn’t suspect a thing since this was a trip our families have gone on several times in the past. When I arrived to the village in downtown Huntsville, Alabama, I couldn’t find Nathan, and I was told he had gone inside to go to the bathroom, even though it hadn’t quite opened yet. Little did I know that he was going to talk to Santa and the other staff members about the proposal that would be happening just a few minutes later.
When the village finally opened at five o’ clock, our families were one of the first in line and we headed straight to see Santa, so Nathan’s little sister could sit in his lap. When we got to the room, I registered us for the pictures and my family as well as the staff members were urging ME to go sit in Santa’s lap instead of the three-year-old. Of course, I did, and Nathan sat on the arm rest of the chair while the awesome photographer took pictures.
Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I just had to take the opportunity to make everyone laugh, and I said, “A mattress.” He looked shocked and everyone in the room laughed, but Santa was serious. He then looked at me and said, “Well, I know something else. Ever since you were a little girl, you’ve always dreamed of a fairytale wedding, haven’t you?”
I had a confused look on my face as I replied, “Yes…” Santa opened up the arm of his chair and pulled out the ring box. He handed it to Nathan as he got down on one knee and proposed!! He used my full name and I was over the moon excited.
The ring was beautiful and it was everything I could’ve ever wanted plus more. On this night, my dream came true. I am so excited to marry the love of my life!!!!
