How We Met: Nate and I met on August 23, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was enjoying a girls weekend while Nate was celebrating a friend’s bachelor party, never imagining we would cross paths and sparks would fly. Our first encounter happened at the Ceasar’s Palace pool, catching each other’s eye and peaking our interests. The next day we ran into each other again, an encounter that ensures fate was on our side. Meeting again that night, getting lost in conversation and each other’s eyes, I gave Nate my number and went home not knowing what the future would hold.
A fun weekend in Vegas turned into a year of text messages and late night phone calls. Nate traveled to Los Angeles to visit, while I flew to Northern California to spend weekends with him. Our long distance relationship evolved and Nate decided to move on August 23, 2011.
how they asked: On March 3, 2013, at 3pm, Nate surprised me with a proposal at Bolsa Chica State Park. In Nate’s months of planning, he made sure that it was everything I had ever wanted. He had found a quiet place on the beach where we had first started to fall in love. Surrounded by three hearts made out of three dozen roses in the sand Nate expressed how much he loved me by asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. Walking down the beach, once again lost in each others eyes, Nate had set up a surprise that is important to the both of us, our families. We spent the rest of the evening with our loved ones around a campfire celebrating our two families about to become one.
