How We Met
Brett and I originally met back in middle school when we competed in swim together. Fast forward to our junior year of high school and we shared a class together where we kept getting assigned seats near one another. As the year went on, he won me over by writing me silly notes and constantly making me laugh. On Valentine’s Day, 2012 he officially asked me to be his girlfriend and we haven’t looked back since!
How They Asked
We both graduated from college this year, and Brett suggested that we take a trip to celebrate our accomplishments. The resort we stayed at was on the north shore of Oahu and had the best views of both the sunrise and sunset- which I insisted we watch each day! On the second day of our trip, Brett suggested we get dressed up and take a cute sunset picture and of course I eagerly agreed! We headed down to where we had the perfect sunset view, only instead of just, “taking a picture,” he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.
I’m honestly not sure I even let him get the question out before I was saying, “yes, yes, of course!” And to top it off we got to view the most beautiful sunset while sipping our mai tais. It was truly perfect.
