How We Met
Michael and I met back in 2006 when I started working at Blockbuster. We always got along, but there were no feelings there. A few years later, we ended up at the same bar reopening night, thanks to a mutual friend. Things progressed from there from our first date at the movies to trips away. Fast forward to 9 years later and we have bought our first home, adopted our fur baby, Harley and settled into routine life.
How They Asked
Michael had booked a trip away to Melbourne for my 30th birthday (booked six months earlier) to see the Harry Potter theatre show. We’d booked a cute Airbnb in Fitzroy and were spoiled for choices of things to do in the area. We had a later start to the day than we had originally planned but we figured we would head out to grab some breakfast. We walked down a couple of streets and Michael said he wanted to check out the street art in a laneway. I thought nothing of it, as this was a pretty routine activity for us and something we do whenever we’re in Melbourne. As I was following him, checking out the murals, he pointed to a wall on his right, and said ‘what do you think of this one?’, I turned to look and immediately burst out crying! It took me a good minute or so to turn to Michael, who was down on one knee, asking me to marry him!!
