How We Met
Tim and I both attended Roanoke College. I was a Junior and he was a Senior when we first met. One night at a party we were introduced by a mutual friend. We remained friends throughout the rest of the year, but then Tim graduated college and joined the United States Marine Corps. We lost touch for a little bit while he was at The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, Virginia. A year went by and I graduated from college and then got a job in Northern VA. After he graduated from TBS we regained communication while he was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He promised once he was done training in Oklahoma he would come back to VA and take me out on a date. He kept true to that promise. Once he moved back to the East Coast he drove up to VA and took me out on our first date and the rest is history!!

Tim proposed to me at Hammocks Beach State Park, NC on April 16, 2016. I had NO IDEA he was going to propose!! He always joked that we were on the “10 Year Plan” and I kinda believed him. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, while I was still living and working in Northern Virginia. We would trade off visiting each other every other weekend. He would come up to VA, then the next weekend I would go down to Jacksonville, NC, etc. The weekend of the 16th it was my turn to go down to his place. It was such a beautiful Saturday on the coast that he suggested we go to the park. I agreed. When we got to the park we walked down close to the water and he told me to take a picture of the view, so I did, and when I turned around he was on one knee asking me to marry him. I SAID YES!!! Thankfully my brother James and our friend Kurt were both there to snap some pictures of the happy moment! Hammocks Beach State Park is special to the both of us, because it is where Tim asked me to be his girlfriend and where he asked me to marry him!! I cannot wait for our wedding on May 19, 2018!
