How We Met
Migail and I met in high school when I was in sophomore and he was a junior. Our school was throwing a festival and Migail and his friend were the DJs evening. I went to say hi to his friend who then introduced us to each other. Later that night, Migail dedicated a song to me over the loud speakers and asked for my number. It felt like a scene from a movie… we’ve been together ever since. After 7 years of dating, 4 of which were long distance between South Africa and America, we are finally getting married on May 21st. He is the most adventurous, joyful, life-giving person I know and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

Migail and I starting dating in high school and have been together for 7 years. We have been doing long distance between South Africa and America for 4 years now. It hasn’t been easy but has been the biggest adventure of our lives. One evening last July, Migail picked me up for a weekend date. When he picked me up, he put a blindfold over my eyes and told me not to ask him any questions. He drove me up to this spot looking over the beautiful Helderberg coast in South Africa. Once he helped me navigate my way to the top, he told me I could remove my blindfold. When I opened my eyes, all I saw was Migail on one knee with the sun setting in the background and candles completely surrounding us. It was the most magical moment of my life and I couldn’t have imagined it any other way. On May 21st, I get to marry the most adventurous, joyful, life-giving person I know and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
