Monica and Christopher
How We Met
I met Monica in 2013 and we have been best friends since day one. We have done nothing but make each other the best version of ourselves since we have been together. We help each other accomplish goals and have been super successful in our careers and life since we met.
how they asked
Our deal was she would receive her engagement ring for graduation (early 2018). I couldn’t wait that long and decided to give it to her on February 4th, 2017. I told her in December we were going snowboarding with a few other couples in early February. So I rented a townhouse close to the mountain and invited a few friends for the weekend. There was 6 of us all together. For guys; Brad, Mike and myself. For girls; Alex, Monica and Sierra. On Friday (the day before), I did some snooping around the top of the mountain to pick out a good spot. I chose the North Peak summit because of the unobstructed views.
By Saturday, the girls were exhausted! It was about 1 pm on Saturday, we just finished up lunch at the lodge. I suggested to everyone that we meet at North Peak at 2 pm to take some group pictures. Monica (my fiancee) wasn’t having it. Alex and Sierra had to pressure her into going up to North Peak (highest point) at Loon mountain. Eventually we all reconvened up at North Peak. We had a fellow skier take a group picture of us, followed by a picture of Alex and Brad, and a picture of Mike and Sierra. Now it’s Monica and myself’s turn. Our friends take the picture of us. I turn to her and say “babe, you know you’re my best friend right? I can’t imagine myself with anyone else but you.
I love you to the moon and back and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” That’s as accurate as I can remember, I was a nervous wreck and i’m typically not great with words. She obviously started crying and gave me a big hug. Lastly, she said YES!
