How We Met
I moved to Tennessee when I was 13 and my family joined a church there in our new town. Grant and his family sat two rows in front of us every Sunday and every Sunday, his grandmother would tell him he needed to talk to the “pretty new girl two rows back.” He was a freshman in high school and he was too cool for a middle school girlfriend. Well, fast forward two years to my freshman year of high school. A high school romance sparked and the rest is history. And here we are six years later.
how they asked
It was Christmas time and we decided to go see The Singing Christmas Tree production in Memphis that night with his mother, father, brother, and his girlfriend. We knew we had some stuff to do in Memphis so we made a day out of it. We went to the mall, went to a nice lunch, and even went to look at rings. Grant was totally convinced I knew it was happening, even though I had no idea, so we went to look at rings that day at TWO different places while he had the ring in his back pocket the entire time. Grant had never seen the duck parade at The Peabody and I wanted to see the Christmas trees there so we made that our next stop. We got to the second story, we took some pictures, his brother and his girlfriend took some, then he went to the bathroom (my guess is to calm down).
He asked me to take some more pictures and then said he needed to fix his jacket because something in his pocket was keeping it from laying right. When he pulled his hand out of his pocket, he had the ring box in his hand. We both cried, we both laughed, we both hugged, we both kissed.
I have never been so happy to marry my best friend!
