Molly and Evan
How We Met
I had just finished college on the East coast and decided to pursue a career on the west coast in membership sales for a country club. About 6 months in, a co-worker insisted I HAD to go out with a local guy who was playing tennis at the club. I was hesitant, as I wanted to focus on my career and knew nothing about this person. After hearing that he (my now Fiancé, Evan) wanted to take me on a date, I reluctantly agreed. What could it hurt to make a new connection in a new town? Especially if a person is THAT interested in you.
And then, as they say, the rest was history…. We had an amazing date, Walked around the town for 6 hours talking, and were pretty much inseparable ever since! The best part? We found out later that my coworker was playing matchmaker. He told me Evan really wanted to take me out and was very interested in me. Then, he told Evan the same thing about me! I’m so happy I went on that date.
how they asked
2017 was a busy year, so we decided to take a fun trip down under to escape the winter blues back home. On our last day of vacation, we decided to walk to St. Kilda Beach in Melbourne. It was a perfect day. Very relaxing, perfect amount of sun and saltwater splashing up from the rocks as we sat by the pier, looking for baby penguins that had just hatched! We spent some time talking about our favorite highlights from the trip, and what we hoped to accomplish in the coming year. We were standing, looking out over the ocean, and Next thing I know, Evan is on one knee! I realized as he is telling me how much he loves me and how he wanted to spend our lives together that we were completely alone and that I could never describe how perfect that moment was. I blurted our yes and started crying immediately. Totally shocked and overwhelmed with pure joy! I cried most of the way home…
The Ring: Evan actually proposed with a ring from my jewelry collection. We hadn’t really discussed rings before, so he said he knew it would fit, and didn’t want to travel internationally with diamonds. He also said he couldn’t imagine picking out a ring without my input. When we got home, we picked out a ring together with the help of our friend’s AHMAZING Diamond Guru, Bernice. She found us this gorgeous 2.00-carat oval diamond. It will be set in a rose gold band with platinum prongs and arrives tomorrow. ❤❤❤
