How We Met
Chris and I actually met and briefly dated in high school, but was short-lived. He was a year ahead of me, but we both ended up going to college in Boston. Our schools were right near each other, so when I first moved up for freshman year he brought me quarters for laundry that I forgot. Soon we ended up hanging out on the weekends with all of our roommates. It didn’t take long before we were together all the time.
How They Asked
Chris and I are avid snowboarders and go every chance we get. It is one of my favorite things to do with him, often with many of our friends! That weekend we were going to our favorite east coast mountain, Sugarloaf, with our close friend Lucas. We had this beautiful sunny day and it was not too busy, so we were having a blast. It was windy, so we couldn’t make it to the tippy top of the mountain (where he wanted to propose).
We got as close to the top as we could and the boys suggested we hike the rest and take pictures, I reluctantly agreed until I saw no hiking signs. We decided we had gone far enough and I wanted those pictures. It was a beautiful day, an empty trail, and Sugarloaf has an awesome view.
Chris took his board off, which was weird and I kept mine on. Lucas, who was in on the plan, captured the moment for us. While I was asking to take a picture from the other angle, Chris got down on one knee. I had no idea what was happening and I asked if he was joking about 7 times. A perfect moment in a perfect place!
