How We Met
Anthony and I had a modern romance, meeting on the ever-popular Bumble. While I was stubborn and didn’t want to explore dating apps, my married best friend made me an account so she could see what all the hype was about. That night, I matched with a handsome fellow named Anthony and went on with my evening. The following day, I received a prompt letting me know that I only had 6 minutes left to respond. Me, still new to the apps, thought “not why? I’ll give this a whirl.” Side note, my main photo was of me holding giant ribbon cutting ceremony scissors.
My opening line: “Apparently I only have six minutes to talk to you. Cutting it close.”
His line: “I see what ya did there ✂️ ”
Not only does he love my puns, but he brought me to a pizza and wine bar on our first date. The man knows what a girl wants. I later found out that he ditched his family and friends’blowout party of the year to extend our date and spontaneously see a movie with me. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
Fast forward years later and my married friend who made my Bumble account went to pick out my engagement ring with my now fiancé.
How They Asked
Our engagement was everything that anyone who knows our relationship would expect: full of love, laughter, and involving our dog.
Anthony and I have been in the process of looking for a home since January, but have had no luck in this crazy market. After some rejected offers, we felt like we were going to give up, but thought that we should see one more. The house was perfect, and it had everything we wanted, including a big backyard for our rescue pup!
Although we’ve already lived together for a couple of years, and together for four, we were so excited when we heard our offer was accepted and that we could finally call this place home.
We had both families over to see the house after closing and Anthony wanted to take a photo in front of the house with Mika, our dog. Just when I thought the photo was being taken, his sister, asks him to fix his pant leg and he pulls out a ring! Meanwhile, Mika couldn’t hold in her “excitement,” and wandered off to do her thing.
After belly-aching laughs and many congratulations, my fiancé brought both families out to the restaurant where we had our first date.
That day, where we were celebrating a new milestone and felt like we came so far, we ended up where we first met, full circle.
