How We Met
Julien and his friends lived next door to my best friend during college. Julien is French and he was playing for our university’s golf team. So when my best friend found out a bunch of foreign guys lived next door, she immediately called me to tell me “One Direction lived next door.” We made a joke about it but after some weeks, I still never met them. My friend then threw a ‘back to school party’ and invited them, where Julien met me but I didn’t remember him at all during the party. We even played a game of beer pong together!
Anyway, we eventually officially met and hit it off but stayed friends, up until a few months before he moved back to France. We did long distance for a year or so and now, I am living in France.
How They Asked
For our 4 year anniversary, Julien took me on a surprise trip. I had no idea where we were going until we arrived at the airport. I discovered we were going to Milan, Italy but that wasn’t the final destination. Once we got to Milan, he told us our final destination was Lake Como.
On the day of the surprise proposal, we drove to Bellagio, and once we arrived, there was a private boat awaiting us. We did a tour of Lake Como and once our boat was in front of Villa Balbianello (the place where Anakin and Padmé got married in Star Wars), Julien got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
