Michelle and Josiah
Josiah and I met 2 years ago on a dating app. His proposal was just like him, loud, public, amazing and surprising. My mother had given him my great grandmother’s ring to use as my engagement ring in October 2016 after being together for a year and we were expecting our first child. I was expecting him to do something low key, private and personal, but I was so wrong.
On March 24, 2017 my best friend got married. I had helped organize and plan the wedding and reception. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was one I will never forget. In the middle of the reception, the DJ called josiah and to the dance floor where he handed Josiah a mic and started to play “Yellow” by Coldplay. Josiah started to sing it and dance with me. I kept asking, “what are you doing?” He just smiled and sang. When the song was over he pulled out a fossilized oyster shell he had found on one of his job sites, got down on one knee and proposed. I was so overjoyed and embarrassed! I was speechless! All I could do was nod my head yes and hug him. I then learned that every single person at the wedding knew about his proposal, except me. He had been planning it with my best friend for months! I’m usually a low key kinda girl, but I wouldn’t have had him propose any other way!
