How We Met

They say it’s good luck to get pooped on by a bird and for me, it became the luckiest day of my life. I was at the beach with my sister one Saturday in July and a seagull pooped right on my leg as we were sunbathing. We raced down to the ocean to rinse off my leg & decided to walk along the water. As we were walking, a lifeguard ran over, started to walk with us & introduced himself. We chatted for a few minutes before he continued on his run. A few days later, that same lifeguard found me on Facebook & asked me out to dinner. 4 years later, that lifeguard is now my fiance, Jody.

how they asked

Jody and I had planned to go out to dinner for our four year dating anniversary. He promised me it would be really nice & ‘we could even take a boat to dinner.’ Little did I know, it would be the most memorable dinner of our lives! As we pulled up to the restaurant, I noticed huge balloons spelling out ‘Marry Me?’

My first thought was ‘aw, look someone is getting engaged!’ At the same time, Jody walked to the front of the boat and got down on one knee.

It took me a few seconds to realize what was happening but as soon as I did, I couldn’t even let him finish his speech before I blurted out ‘Yes!’ Our families & friends had witnessed the whole thing and were waiting for us on the dock to celebrate!
