Marriage Proposal Ideas in Yellowstone National Park

How We Met

Brett and I met through my best friend and then didn’t talk to each other for a year. Ha! Then a year later, in 2013, we started talking again. We realized we had so many of the same interests that it just made perfect sense. The rest was history after that, and here we are 6 years later!

How They Asked

Brett and I set out on our road trip to visit our friends. Unfortunately they both had to work that week, but they lived close enough to Yellowstone we were able to explore in between seeing them. That Monday, we got up early and headed to Yellowstone National Park. It was our first time going and we were SO excited to finally be there.

Our first stop was Avalanche Peak. We decided weeks before that we were going to climb it. Brett brought his GoPro to document the whole thing (mostly me whining on the way up.. haha). We gained 2100ft in elevation on our 2.1 mile hike up the mountain. Brett was so encouraging and patient with Me during the climb. IT WAS HARD. So hard that Brett started bribing me that he’d marry me if I made it to the top! Little did I know he was being honest about it!

The view was AMAZING on the top. It was the best moment to be on top of the world with the love of my life. We naturally set up a tripod to take a photo to capture the moment. The next thing I knew I was in tears looking at Brett down on his knee, proposing to me as I kept saying ARE YOU FOR REAL!? At almost 11,000ft in the air, after a 2 hour hike up, and 5 and a half years of dating, I said YES to marrying the man of my dreams.
