Michele and Nick

Image 1 of Michele and Nick How We Met: We are a part of the online world of dating. We had been talking through text for about a week. Things were going well so we decided to set a date to meet. Since Nick had only moved to AZ about a month prior to talking, he had not experienced many great restaurants the state has to offer! So, I suggested going to Gordon Biersch since it is a place with great food that anyone likes.

Little did I know, Nick’s birthday was a week prior to our first date and he had already been there! He was too sweet to tell me though. So I got ready for the date and we decided to meet there – since we had only talked online and through texting. I pulled up to San Tan Village near Total Wine. I had seen pictures of Nick online (obviously), so I knew what to look for. I saw this strapping young man pull up next to me in a blue Mustang. If anyone knows me, they know I loved Mustangs since I could drive – this was my first sign. So we both get out and he proceeds on walking to the restaurant. As the dork I am, I shout out, “Hey, I think I know you!”. Well, that did get his attention. We walked into the restaurant and began our first date. We had such a great time talking and getting to know one another.

The rest is history!

how they asked: We had been dating for a little over 2 years when we got engaged. It happened on the morning of December 6th, 2014. I had been thinking for a few weeks at the time that he would maybe be proposing soon. I would joke about going to look at rings when we were shopping or if a jeweler’s commercial would come on the radio or tv. Well, I thought it was our normal Saturday morning – I would get up, take the dog out and make some coffee. When I came back in from taking Max out, Nick was already up – usually he will be sleeping in a little later than me. We went back to bed for a bit and chatted. He asked me if I wanted to go see what St. Nick brought me! I had totally forgot it was that morning! So, we went into the living room and I started pulling out the gifts in my stocking. I pulled out what I had thought was the only things in there and thanked him for the gifts. He was like, “No, there’s more!”. I thought, “Oh!”. So as I was reaching down into the bottom of the stocking, I felt a small box. I thought to myself, “Omg, is this it?!?”. I pulled it out and saw a beautiful red box – which I had never seen this jeweler in Arizona. As I started opening the box, I looked over and saw Nick was on his knee and told me how much he loves me and asked me to be his wife! Of course I say, “Are you serious?!” because I couldn’t believe it had finally happened! Such a surreal moment in your relationship. As we all know now, I said yes!
