Michaela and Nick

How We Met

Nick and I met on Bumble in the Spring of 2017!

How They Asked

In June, Nick came home and told me about a work trip to Arizona he was going on in August. My first question was can I go? (Arizona had become my second home, visiting my grandparents and family, so it’s a very special place to me) Nick said yes so I began the planning!

Pretty soon it was a week before heading down and Nick came home with my name badge and had me select dinner options for different events. I booked our tee times for my favorite course and the course we played on our first trip down there a couple of years ago.

Michaela and Nick's Engagement in Chandler, Arizona - Wild Horse Pass Golf Course

Proposal Ideas Chandler, Arizona - Wild Horse Pass Golf Course

We arrived and it was HOT but we were so happy to be on vacation so we didn’t care! On our first day, the plan was to golf in the morning, then pick his dad up from the airport and head to our first work event. On the golf course, Nick seemed more anxious than usual, but he isn’t a big fan of the heat so I didn’t think much of it. We were finishing up on my favorite hole and as I grabbed my golf club, I noticed Nick walking towards me. He grabbed my hands and started off with his speech before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Between my crying and his, I somehow managed to say yes! I was shocked and beyond happy…After a few minutes, he told me to turn around and smile for the photographer. He hired a photographer to not only capture our engagement but also do an engagement shoot in the desert while we’re down there.
