How We Met
Jackson & I met right out of college when we started working at the same company. We met during orientation and became instant friends. Friendship turned into a relationship and we’ve been together for over four years! He is my best friend and continues to be my biggest fan!
How They Asked
Every year Jackson & I join my family on a ski trip out west. Thursday we had a full day on the mountain and Jackson surprised my parents by asking them if he could marry me on the ski lift. Little did they know he had a whole plan to ask me the next day, Friday, February 7th! His plan was to ask me on top of The Cantons Mountain resort but Thursday evening to Friday morning turned into 50 mph winds and the mountain and lifts were closed. Jackson has no Plan B! My cousin who lives out there suggested a morning hike until we wait out the wind storm. I thought nothing of this hike and was excited to get outside anyways. My family, my Aunt & Uncle (who are actually my godparents), my cousin & his baby boy, and my best friend and her husband were all there for this morning hike. 10 minutes into the hike Jackson gets me to “lead” the hike and get in front. As we were walking ahead of everyone, Jackson was telling me he’d race me up the hill but I kept saying, “no no let’s just take it easy, we have an hour hike ahead of us”. Little did I know he was seconds away to getting on his knee and proposing! He was walking behind me and said, “If you don’t want to race up the hill, how about we do something else” and at that moment I turned around and he was on his knee. I was facing my family and closest friends and our background was the back side Iron Mountain, a dreamy winter wonderland. It was an incredible moment and a day I’ll always treasure. He added an extra surprise by getting my sister to fly out to Utah & surprise the whole family. The wind died down, the Park City lifts opened and she met us on the slopes that afternoon. We celebrated with party laps on the mountain the rest of the day!!
