How We Met
We actually met at a bar imagine that. I used to work for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Connor is from Hamilton. We were both at a tailgate party before the game and after a few vodka sodas I finally had the courage to go talk to him, although all that came out of my mouth was “you, me, we should party.” and then I walked away
He didn’t know my name or anything but somehow found me on social media and asked me out on a real date.
How They Asked
I was actually a little angry because I thought he was going to propose weeks before during a romantic getaway he had planned and so I had been fighting with him about not being committed to our relationship. Little did I know he had a ring and was planning to propose then but something came up.
So a few weeks later we planned an adventure weekend in Whistler and we weren’t allowed to bring up marriage since we had been arguing over it so much lately.
Ever since moving to Vancouver I had wanted to hike Garabaldi Lake, so early Sunday morning we set off on our adventure. When we got to the lake it was gorgeous. Not too crowded, some clouds in the sky but the lake was glowing. We walked around a little bit until we found a secluded bench overlooking some beautiful flowers. I had my head leaning on his shoulder and he turned and said I don’t want to move from this moment but will you marry me. I couldn’t even get the words out before I started crying.
