How We Met
Phil was a friend of a friend and he inquired about me. I was very hesitant at first but I agreed to go on a date with him. It was a warm December night and as he said I “made him” stand in the cold for an hour just talking and at the end of that night I was so scared that when he leaned in to kiss me I turned my head and gave him my cheek. The next 6 months we spent time learning about each other and growing our friendship. Finally in June he finally asked me to be his girlfriend and again being a little hesitant, with a push and a friends reference of “get off the plane”…I got off the plane.
how they asked
We started our two week vacation in Disneyland. Now I am a huge Disney fan and going to Disneyland was a big deal for me. It’s the original dream of Walt’s and while I’ve been to Disney World too many times to count, this was different. We spent all day going on all of the rides and pushing through the heat. At the end of the night, we watched the fireworks and at the end I started to get emotional, more because I knew my day was ending and I didn’t know when I would be back. So we took our time walking down Main Street, and I was soaking in the end of our day when I spotted a photographer at the end. The castle was all lit up and I said “one more photo please”. Phil agreed and as we took the last photo I went to step away to get our photo pass for him to scan, Phil pulled me back and got down on one knee. “No you’re not” is what I said but he said “I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place, I love you and want to spend my life with you, will you marry me?” I was crying but managed to say yes and feel to my knees and hugged him. He had created the most beautiful blue diamond ring surrounded by white diamond…just what I always wanted. To say Disney is the most magical place on earth is an understatement now for me. He proposed amazingly and it makes it all that much more memerable.
