How We Met
Blair and I met while in college at the University of Maryland, College Park. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2014 where our union was established. Being that we’re both sports fans, its only fitting that our first date involved us attending a Washington Redskin game. It was our love of the game that brought us together and for that I will forever be grateful.
As our dates became significant, I knew Blair was the one for me. As time evolved we became best friends and I began to feel more and more comfortable around him. Like most couples, Blair and I have our “go-to spots” but what made him win my heart was the fact that he would try to incorporate new ways to spend time with me. Whether it was trying new restaurants, going to concerts, lavish trips, sporting events, recreations activities, bowling, kayaking, or an occasional walk around town, Blair makes sure to create new memories every chance he gets.
So being that its never the usual with Blair, it came as a total surprise when he decided to propose to me at the National Harbor. The weather was perfect and the sun shined ever so bright, what I thought was just another picture, turned into him getting down on one knee.
how they asked
National Harbor is where we spend a lot of our spontaneous date nights at. It’s located on the Potomac River in Oxon Hill, MD. On the afternoon of August 31, 2016, Blair told me to get dressed so we could enjoy a nice dinner on the waterfront. As we arrived, we were walking along the waterfront trying to decide which restaurant we wanted to eat at. The sunset was beautiful so we asked someone walking by to take a picture of us, and before you know it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!
Of course I said YES! I am so excited to start the beginning of our eternal LOVE story. Blair is all I could ask for in a fiancé and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for us.
