How We Met
We met while I was in law school and A had just finished. We were introduced through mutual friends and texted for a few weeks before we finally had our first date. It was a textbook summer romance and ever since our first date, we both knew it was meant to be.
How They Asked
One of my favorite movies of all time is An Affair To Remember. A man and a woman have a romance while on a cruise from Europe to New York. Despite being engaged to other people, both agree to reunite at the top of the Empire State Building in six months. Because of this movie, I’ve always thought of the Empire State Building as one of the most romantic places in the world in one of the most magical cities in the world and always dreamt of being proposed to at the very top of the Empire State Building. A brought me to NYC for my birthday weekend in December. The first few days were already so enchanting as the city www decorated for the holiday season.
Saturday morning, we went to visit the Empire State Building. A proposal wasn’t even on my radar as he had convinced me that he would “never travel with a ring”. As I was enjoying the breathtaking view of one of my favorite cities in the world, I heard A call my name. When I turned over to look at him, he was already down on one knee holding out the most beautiful engagement ring. He gave me my dream proposal and my dream ring. A is not the type of person who likes a lot of attention and once he proposed, those around us applauded and took photos. Knowing that he stepped way out of his comfort zone to make my dreams come true meant the world to me.
